Search Concepts / Exit rate

Exit rate

Exit rate is a measurement in search analytics that records how often users perform a query then leave the SERP without clicking on a result. In many ways, exit rate can be thought of as the bounce rate for a search engine. A high exit rate indicates that the search engine is producing poor quality results, since users are not able to find what they are looking for. Exit rates can be compared to conversion rates, which indicate how often users click on a result from an SERP.

In Swiftype

Swiftype users can track exit rates by integrating Swiftype with Google Analytics.
