What is Clickthrough behavior?
Clickthrough behavior is a type of data that records which results users are clicking on from an Search Engine Results Page (SERP). Advanced search engines use this data to learn from user behavior and improve over time. Site owners can use these search analytics to determine which results are performing best.
Swiftype leverages clickthrough behavior trends over time to refine and improve result sets based on the what results are performing best.
Within Site Search, Swiftype automatically tracks user clickthrough behavior and displays this information in the user-friendly account dashboard. With this information in hand, site owners can drag-and-drop to rearrange results for specific queries in the Rankings tab or adjust their engine wide relevance model through the Weights tab.
App Search features the Clickthrough API endpoint. You can write this endpoint into your applications to enrich the data collected from each click. Which browser is being used? Is it a mobile session? The flexibility provides great opportunity.
