What is Search relevance?
Search relevance is a measurement of how closely related a document is to a query. Search relevance can be determined in a wide variety of ways, ranging from simple binary relevance to a weighted relevance algorithm such as TF-IDF, which assigns a relevance score to documents.
In Swiftype
Swiftype uses an advanced search algorithm to determine which documents are most relevant for a given query, taking into account the frequency with which the query appears within the search index, the frequency of the query within a specific document, and the aggregate clickthrough behavior of users over the search engine's history.
