What is Spelling correction?

Spelling correction is a language analysis tool that identifies and corrects common spelling mistakes as users perform queries. Spelling correction can be configured to suggest alternative spellings on the SERP ("did you mean ...?") or the SERP can automatically correct mistakes and show results based on the corrected query.

In Swiftype

Swiftype automatically corrects for common spelling errors by comparing incoming queries to the corpus of searchable text in the search engine index. When Swiftype finds that a query does not exist within that corpus but is a close match for a different reoccurring word, Swiftype identifies that word as the correct spelling and surfaces documents containing the correctly spelled word instead.
