What is Stemming?

Stemming is a language-dependent process of removing suffixes from words so that words with the same root match each other.

For example, "walking" and "walked" can be stemmed to the same root word, "walk".

App Search and Site Search utilize the sophisticated Snowball stemming algorithm which produces good results for most languages. Within App Search, the stemming settings between languages will differ.
