Jira Cloud Connector Guide
Ingest all of your Jira Cloud pages into Enterprise Search.
The Jira Cloud Connector requires that you connect Enterprise Search within Atlassian.net.
For self hosted Jira, see Jira Server.
Login to Enterprise Search.
Within the administrative dashboard, click Settings on the sidebar.
Navigate to Content Source Connectors:
Select the Jira Connector and click Connect.
You will be presented with a Public Key and a place to input a Base URL:
Your Base URL is wherever Enterprise Search can reach your Jira instance, such as
The Public Key will be provided to Jira for a secure connection between both applications. Copy it!
The next steps take place within Jira.
Login to Jira as an administrator.
You'll need to access Application Links... But they're hidden.
Reveal them by replacing [EXAMPLE] in the following with your own Jira URL:
Next, enter the host address for Enterprise Search.
By default, the address is:
Click Create new link:
It will fail... That's okay. Everybody fails sometimes.
Confirm the link, then proceed.
We admit: this next part will feel strange. But the end result will securely connect the two applications.
A modal appears and within it we'll need to enter some information:
- Application Name: Elastic Enterprise Search
- Application Type: Generic Application
- Service Provider Name: Elastic
- Consumer key, Shared secret, Request Token URL, Access token URL, Authorize URL: Any random value. A
- Create incoming link: Check this box.
A final modal will appear:
- Consumer Key:
- Consumer Name: Elastic
- Public Key: Your Public Key from Enterprise Search.
A successful affirmation appears...
Now, over to Enterprise Search for the finishing touches.
Click Sources within the sidebar.
Click Add under the Jira source.
First, you'll need to click I understand.
Why the hurdle? We want to make it clear that you're adding a public source.
All of its contents will be accessible by those with the right permissions.
If you're comfortable with that, click the button.
After that, you'll be asked to connect to Jira.
Congratulations! Jira Cloud is now a content source -- it's time to search.
You can now make the source available to various groups and scale its relevance priority.
